Was Singer's Suicide Attempt Staged? 6:00AM ET August 16th, 2010 Contributor : Hip Hop Blog Staff A Rocky Williform Company Paula Cook, estranged wife of Antwaun Cook, who's currently dating singer Fantasia, is still very distraught over the dissolution of her marriage.
And she still blames Fantasia for it's ending.
“She’s embarrassed, and humiliated and distressed by the lack of respect that was shown for her marriage by Ms. Barrino,” said Cook's divorce attorney. “It’s that kind of brazen behavior that Mrs. Cook has had to endure for the last 11 months, until June of this year,” Wallace says. “This is something that has caused her emotional distress, pain, anguish.”
This comes on the heels of rumors that Fantasia's suicide attempt wasn't a cry for help--it was a cry for attention and an attempt to get sympathy from the public following her controversial relationship/breakup(?) with Antwaun Cook. The singer was rushed to the hospital last week for what her manager called an 'overdose' of 'a sleeping aid' and aspirin, and a statement was issued claiming that Fantasia was a victim of Cook's alleged lies and deceit.
But photos surfaced online this past weekend of the former "American Idol" champ and Cook in what looks like some sort of staged 'emotional' confrontation--complete with a cameraman and multiple takes. Questions are flying as to whether or not this was all part of some publicity stunt for sympathy or just a 'very special' episode of Fantasia's 'reality' show.
Adding to the intrigue, a new Fantasia song, entitled "Lucky," was leaked to the Web this week. The song seems to be the story of a woman 'lucky' to have another woman's man.
