Singer Trey Songz is encouraging young people to get out there and vote in their mid-term elections. And the superstar reflected on how meeting President Barack Obama gave him a newfound appreciation for politics and the effects in can have on the lives of citizens.

"My favorite Obama moment, and actually one of my favorite moments ever, was when he invited me to join him and his family in the Oval Office and told me he was proud of me," the singer shared. "Since then, I have actually recalled that moment for inspiration during hard times."

"I am a family man, so to see the impact that his presidency has had on different generations of my family was life-changing for me. From my grandmother, who grew up believing such a thing was impossible, to my brothers, who will grow up thinking nothing is impossible, I am grateful for his bravery and his belief in himself and in our country that propelled him to the presidency."
