David Banner is one of the most outspoken rappers in the game. Unlike most rappers (ahem, Kanye), Banner's words are actually respected and most of the time, they're on-point. The Mississippi native recently sang the praises of fellow southern superstar Lil Wayne in an interview with XXL.

"Wayne is like Kobe Bryant right now," Banner said in the interview. "You know, as Kobe gets older all he cares about is championships. Wayne is in that zone. He's highly focused and very sharp right now."

Wayne, like Kobe, did start in the game young and has seemingly gotten better as he's gotten older. But--Kobe has racked up five rings. Weezy hasn't quite captured the musical equivalent of that yet.

But, hey--there's still time, right?
