''It Was His Passion...'' 4:00PM ET March 3rd, 2011 Contributor : Hip Hop Blog Staff A Rocky Williform Company
The legendary Kool G Rap shared his respect and admiration for the late Tupac Shakur in a recent interview. G Rap co-signed Jay-Z's assessment of the slain icon's career and legacy.
"I agreed with what [Jay-Z] was saying about Pac [in a past Charlie Rose interview]," Kool G Rap explained. "It's not that Pac was so crazy lyrically, but it was his passion. Tupac, to me, was like the hip-hop Marvin Gaye. That's the best example, because he was the artist of the time, and so was Pac."
Kool G Rap also recounted the story of him and Pac together during the Los Angeles riots. "Me, Jinx and my man Gooch from out in Cali, we was riding out there [during the riots] together," said G Rap. "And then ‘Pac…I don’t remember if he was riding with us, but we was all together. Everybody was riding around, poppin’ they burner off out the window. Everybody was mad’."
