''I Get Very, Very Nervous...''

Brandy has been performing for most of her life, and she's been a star since she was fourteen years old. But the R&B star says that she still gets the jitters when she steps on stage. Actually, she seems to get more than just jitters--she says sometimes she's been terrified.

"I have stage fright. There was this one particular time when I was a teenager," she says in a recent interview. "This radio station in LA were doing these tapes, this was when me and Monica supposedly had this beef, we had never met at the time and they were doing these tapes of us calling each other and going off on each other and I was the one doing most of the talking. So LA didn’t like me at that time and I was 16 years old and I went to their Summer Jam. I went on stage to present them with one of my plaques and the entire audience booed me. It was one of the worst experiences [of my life]. It took me forever to kind of get through that and since then I’ve had stage fright. [But] I overcome it every time I get on stage. People haven’t seen me on stage in awhile and I want to do a great job so I get very, very nervous and I have to center myself."
