Miami bass pioneer "Uncle" Luke Campbell is the latest celebrity to criticize Spike Lee's criticism of Quentin Tarantino's controversial film Django Unchained. Luke blasted the filmmaker for boycotting the film and said Lee's angry because he couldn't make a similar movie.
"Screw Spike Lee. Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained is a brilliant flick that more accurately depicts the African American experience than any of the 15 movies about black culture Lee's directed in his lifetime," Luke told the Miami New Times.
"Lee could never pull off a movie like this," he continued. "When he's not being an ass from his court side seats during New York Knicks games, he's making bull crap films that most African Americans cannot relate to. Spike is upset because Samuel L. Jackson's character in the movie is just like him: a conniving and scheming Uncle Tom."
