Jay-Z Forgetting Where He Came From 06:00AM ET June 1, 2010 Contributor : Hip Hop Blog Staff A Rocky Williform Company
Last week we reported on Jay-Z’s opening salvo in the Rolling Stone magazine top 500 songs of all-time. The points he made were good and as an artist who has a great number of hits under his belt he is the perfect artist to muse about hit songs. However, Jay also gave his top five list of his favorite/top hits and it is interesting to say the least.
1. "Respect" by Aretha Franklin
2. "What's going on" by Marvin Gaye
3. "Imagine" by John Lennon
4. "I can't get no satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones
5. "Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan
We can ride with Aretha, Marvin and even John Lennon, but there it is highly unlikely that Jay was really bumping the Bob Dylan or The Stones when he was pushing packs in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
Seriously, we know you have major paper and the baddest chick in the game rocking your ring but who do you think you are fooling Jay?
Stick to the script.
