Rapper Allegedly Received Video Warning 6:00AM ET July 30, 2010 Contributor : Hip Hop Blog Staff A Rocky Williform Company
Members of the Crips street gang allegedly sent Snoop Dogg a video message warning him that he may be in danger prior to a recent show in Oklahoma. The alleged threat was issued in retaliation for an interview the Long Beach rapper gave in 2009 where he condemned the gang culture and lifestyle in California. “Gang life has dramatically changed in L.A,” Snoop told DJ Green Lantern in 2009. “In California we are playing by a different set of rules and regulations, so all these cats out here you see throwing up their flag and reppin' need to be careful because that could end up real bad for them.”
The video was apparently sent to Snoop with a Crip warning the rapper. “Snoop I'm giving you a temporary pass,” the Crip said. “You need to give me a call, your concert is tomorrow and if you don't call me, I can't be held responsible.”
Thankfully, Snoop's performance wasn't marred by an incident.
