An ex computer programmer turned disc jockey, DJ Vlad, (aka "The Butcher") has turned VladTV.com into one of the most reputable hip hop-centric sites online. The site most notoriously helped reveal Rick Ross' past as a corrections officer, and since then, has become a go-to destination online for all things hip hop news. Vlad's approach hasn't always garnered praise from the artist's who's stories populate his site. He infamously was in an altercation with Ross, and in 2010, the rapper was found liable for the DJ's injuries.
For his interviews, Vlad has netted several hip hop personalities over the past year; including Joe Budden, J. Cole and Juelz Santana. "Rap Phenomenon," his tribute mixtape to the late, great Notorious B.I.G., was among the year's most popular and celebrated.
Currently the Executive Vice President at Loud.com, Vlad oversaw the site's relaunch with new contests that allowed fledgling artists the ability to upload their music for established producers, emcees, and DJs.
Last year, VladTV partnered with the popular Star & Buc Wild Show to produce a daily feature. Vlad has also dabbled in voiceover work, lending his voice to the popular Adult Swim series "The Boondocks."
