Cortez Bryant
By Todd Williams Tuesday, November 16th, 2010
Cortez Bryant When Lil Wayne stepped down as President of Young Money Entertainment in 2007, he tapped Bryant to head the then-fledging imprint. As Young Money President, Bryant has presided over the label's tremendous growth and exploding popularity over the last two years. With monster hit singles like the posse cut "Every Girl," and superstar album releases from Wayne and Drake, and the highly-anticipated debut of female rapper Nicki Minaj, Young Money has become a force in the industry under Bryant's leadership.

In 2010 Drake's Thank Me Later sold 1,112,100 copies in the US and Lil Wayne's Rebirth became his second number-one album and seventh top-ten album in the US, moving up to number one on the Billboard 200 in its third week.

With Lil Wayne spending much of 2010 incarcerated, Bryant has assumed a more visible public persona; he joined Cash Money Records founder Brian "Birdman" Williams on 'Larry King: Live' to discuss the superstar rapper's incarceration and the impact it would have on the label and the industry.
