Pharrell is not only one of the most respected artists and producers in hip hop, but he has maintained his high visibility through a series of shrewd artistic moves and savvy business ventures over the past year.
The producer contributed his talents to the animated film Despicable Me; providing the hit film with it's theme song. The film clocked in at just under $500 million earned worldwide.
Williams stayed busy behind the boards as well in 2010, offering up production for everyone from Britney Spears and Gucci Mane to Pitbull and Shakira. Williams' song “One (Your Name)” with Swedish House Mafia has become a must play in clubs the world over.
Williams' clothing lines, Millionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Footwear, continue to be successful and, in 2010, the rapper/producer also launched KiDult.com, a site designed to share news to teens that speaks directly to kids. "If anything, I want to inspire poeple to receive other people's stories," Williams said in 2010. "For me, I just like to express myself in any way, shape or form."
"It's all in harmony--creativity is creativity--for me this is just another vessel for expression."
