Dave MaysDavid Mays is one of the most ambitious figures in hip hop media. The man who founded the Source in 1988 and helped launch Hip Hop Weekly with Raymond "Benzino" Scott, Mays has helped turn Hip Hop Weekly into one of the most iconic names in print media.

In 2010, Mays oversaw Hip Hop Weekly's launch of it's 3-D Hip Hop Weekly Swimsuit Calendar, which was packaged with the magazine's first annual "Swimsuit & Summer Style Issue." Mays also guided the launch of the sports-themed SkyBoxx Magazine.

Hip Hop Weekly, now the #1 selling hip hop weekly title on newsstands, doubled its distribution in 2009. Mays and his publication were awarded for their stellar work at the 2009 Urban Music Awards, taking home the award for Best Magazine.

"“After three and a half years of building a successful brand we are proud to branch out," Mays said in a statement announcing the calendar project. "Moving forward, we will continue to bring our audience the best there is to offer in every area of entertainment.”
