Keith "DJ Kay-Slay" Grayson
By Martin Davies Tuesday, November 16th, 2010
Keith An avid hip hop head since he was a young graffiti artist in the 1970s, Kay-Slay is one of hip hop's most amicable DJs. The personality who served as a go-between in numerous hip hop feuds over the years (from Nas vs. Jay-Z, to 50 Cent vs. Ja Rule), the New York spinner is respected by artists and fans alike.

Kay Slay initially made a name with his "Streetsweeper" series and his hit Hot 97 radio show, but in 2009, he garnered much attention for his remake of the classic 1990 awareness single "Self Destruction."

Also over the past year, Kay Slay has worked with Drake on both his mixtape and album and the DJ released his own LP, More Than Just A DJ. The album featured contributions from 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Plies, Cam'ron, Jim Jones and a host of other hip hop notables.

"My whole MO is to try and help brothers on the come up. Pretty much down the line, they get successful, they pay homage back," Kay-Slay says. "Most artists came through my lane at some point or another.

Kay Slay is also working on forthcoming projects with Juelz Santana and Joell Ortiz.
