The 2010 BET Hip Hop producer of the year, Swizz's productions have been featured on seemingly everyone's albums this year; from Jay-Z to Plies to Chris Brown. Of course, his marriage to Alicia Keys kept his name on a regular fixture on gossip sites, but the beatsmith has consistently been one of the busiest in the industry, regardless of his personal life. And his upcoming album, Haute Living, looks to be one of the year's most anticipated releases.
Swizz has also partnered with the toys-meets-art clothing company Kidrobot and he's joined the design team for Swiss watchmaker Audemars Pigue. Additionally, the producer has branched out into fashion, partnering with Christian Louboutin for a series of specialty shoes and designing his own brand of high-end leather jackets to launch next year.
After a mid-2000s lull in his career, Swizz has re-emerged as the most visible producer in hip hop not named Kanye West, and has become one of the most talked-about personalities in the genre. "I'm doing a bio on Kasseem Dean," Beatz said in early 2010. "Some people don't know 70 percent of the work I've done."
