Wasalu Lupe Fiasco has managed to maintain one of the most loyal fanbases in hip-hop. Earlier this fall, when his third LP, Lasers, was met with another delay, fans gathered a petition with over 28,000 signatures to demand that Atlantic Records release the album; and also planned a protest before the rapper and his label agreed on a tentative release date.

Ever the busy artist, Fiasco did release an album with his post-punk band Japanese Cartoon. In The Jaws Of The Lords Of Death was released in the summer of 2010.

In 2010, the Chicago emcee also remained committed to humanitarian efforts. Fiasco joined actress Jessica Biel and other celebrities and activists for an expedition to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro called "Summit On the Summit" to raise awareness of the billions of people worldwide who lack access to sanitary drinking water.

He also released the song "Resurrection" with Kenna as part of a compilation aimed to help raise funds for victims of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
