Devyne Stephens has long been the secret weapon behind Konvict Muzik. The credited with discovering and signing Akon, has helped the superstar turn the label into one of the strongest in the industry. Stephens has used his success at Konvict to launch Upfront Entertainment; a multi-tiered entertainment company.
“When you speak of Berry Gordy in turns of my background, my background is artist development," Stephens said. "Motown built some of the legendary artist today… That is what Upfront Mega entertainment is about; artist development.”
Last year, Upfront partnered with Universal Music Group in a distribution deal and Stephens also helped launch Peachtree Television and Film Production, which produces hit reality shows like "Welcome to Dreamland" and "Monica: Still Standing." He is also a part owner in several of the hottest spots in the city of Atlanta, including the Gold Room Lounge and the sports bar, Throwbacks.
Stephens is a committed philanthropist; he donated $300,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and plans to launch a year-long awareness campaign. He was honored for his work with the 2009 Man of the Year Award from the Chauncey Davis Foundation.
