Despite being incarcerated, Atlanta superstar T.I. hasn't lost a bit of his cache in hip hop circles. The last few years of his career have been peppered with ongoing legal issues, yet the man born Clifford Harris has managed to retain his place as one of hip hop's most recognized names and brands. With his return to the industry expected in late 2011, Tip finds himself picking up where he left off in 2010.
His late 2010 album No Mercy, released on December 7, peaked at #4 in the US and it sold over 159,000 copies in its first week. The RIAA certified the album gold with over 500,000 copies sold. He was also nominated for two Grammy Awards, a Soul Train Award and a BET Hip Hop Award.
As he nears his official release date, it has been announced that T.I. has a new reality show with VH1 that will debut in December 2011. The show will feature T.I. documenting his journey leading up to his incarceration and will feature the rapper trying to help sway others from following destructive paths.
He also has a book slated to be released in 2012.
