Bossip has built its reputation on vicious commentary on pop culture. And editor Marve Frazier has been the guiding force behind the site's exploding growth. She's also helped steer the development of Mogul Media and HipHopWired. If you're a celebrity and you're involved something scandalous, believe that your face will be plastered all over the gossip site--usually accompanied by a pointed headline.
Frazier took over Bossip when the domain name was worth a measly $8, and now she's overseeing an online empire. Not bad for a woman who served in virtually every capacity early on -- from writer to researcher to ad salesperson. It was announced earlier this year that Frazier will be helping to launch Moguldom Studios, a division of the company that will provide original online videos for Moguldom's collection of sites.
"Each website has its own brand and its own personality," Frazier said about the various sites under her authority. "For example, Bossip is viciously hilarious... Our whole purpose is to entertain, to inform, but it's edgy." Hip-Hop Wired is "the authority on hip-hop. We understand that we can't make excuses [for rappers] making poor decisions. We're not afraid to put people on blast."
