Jermaine Dupri has done virtually everything one can do successfully in the music business, and though 2011 was a relatively quiet year for the Atlanta star, he nonetheless continued making moves to solidify his place near the top of the industry.
He also set about resurrecting the career of his former protege, Da Brat, after the female rapper was released from prison following a two year stint for assault. The two reunited on the track "Sure Thing," which was released early in the year. Dupri was tapped to join Leona Lewis, Donna Summer, Natasha Bedingfield and more on the reality competition "Platinum Hit" as a part of the rotating judging panel.
Dupri also diversified his business interests, re-launching the social networking site Global 14 in early 2011. Dupri’s vlog series, "Living The Life," also became the web's equivalent of 'Must-See TV,' featuring superstars like Pharrell Williams and Mary J. Blige. Dupri is also reportedly looking to reunite with superstar vocalist Mariah Carey for work on her upcoming album.
