"DJ Vlad" Lyubovny
By Erica Moore Friday, December 30th, 2011

One of the most bombastic and recognized DJs in the business, Miami-based "DJ Vlad" Lyubovny is a mainstay of hip hop media because of his ability to be both one of the industry's most well-known personalities and his willingness to dive head-first into controversy. VladTV has become a home-base for hot interviews with hip hop stars, and Vlad knows how to get the famous talking about more than the typical subject matter fans expect from hip hop interviews.

Vlad continued to land interviews with some of hip hop's biggest names and most influential personalities on VladTV. Everyone from the Game to Young Jeezy sat down with Vlad to discuss seemingly anything--including the benefits of and problems with social media and homophobia in hip hop. Reality stars like Tami Roman of "Basketball Wives" and Kimbella of "Love and Hip Hop" were also had sit-downs with the DJ. VladTV even had some of 2011's most bizarre headlines; as when West coast hip hop veterans the Outlawz claimed they'd smoked the ashes of their fallen mentor, the late Tupac Shakur.

Vlad still proved himself to be one of the most consistent mixtape DJs in hip hop; releasing his "Empire State Vol. 4" and "All Black Everything" tapes in 2011. "Vlad the Butcher" also shared his industry expertise in a segment for the Wall Street Journal detailing what it takes to become a success in the uber-competitive music industry.
