Elliott Wilson has turned RapRadar.com into the web's top sites for hip hop music and culture. Less gossip-oriented than many of its contemporaries, the site is guided by the venerable Wilson, who has been a constant fixture in hip hop media for over two decades.
The former XXL Editor-in-chief launched the site in late 2008 and it has quickly become a reputable source for hip hop news. This is due in no small part to Wilson's influence and respect among artists. He has been able to turn this respect into exclusive interviews and event opportunities.
In the past year, Wilson has interviewed stars such as Lupe Fiasco, The-Dream and Lil Wayne. He's also guest hosted on the popular Sirius satellite channel, Shade 45.
"I feel like you just feel the energy of an exciting day in hip hop," "Then all of a sudden you get that cool Kanye [West] single or that cool Eminem single--I just like the crazy rivalry. As much as we've accomplished, we're still getting started. Right out of the gate, we proved that it wasn't just hype and i could document the culture in this form and not lose a step. No one is doubting me anymore."
