Travis Barker has emerged from his former band Blink-182 to become one of the most sought-after collaborators in hip hop. An entrepreneur, producer and accomplished drummer, Barker in the last year has become known in particular for his rock remixes to popular hip hop hits and his playing on Lil Wayne's Rebirth album. Barker has collaborated with Drake, Kanye West, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and more on everything from mixtapes to, in the case of Blige, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven."
A testament to the respect Barker receives in hip hop circles, his upcoming solo album Give the Drummer Some features a veritable who's-who of rap stars; including RZA, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Raekwon, B.o.B., Swizz Beatz and, of course, Lil Wayne--along with rockers such as Slash and Corey Taylor of Slipknot.
Since surviving a plane crash in 2008, Travis Barker continues to bridge the gap between rap and rock, enlightening audiences in numerous genres and building on the massive respect and acceptance he's earned within the hip-hop industry.
