Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am is both one of the most active producers in hip hop and one of the most visible personalities in pop culture. With the Peas, will.i.am won three 2010 Grammy Awards and he was was the 2010 recipient of BMI’s President’s Award, in recognition of his work as an artist, producer and philanthropist.
In the past year, his production credits have included Daddy Yankee, FloRida, Usher and the late, great Michael Jackson. The multi-talented entertainer also extended his film career, appearing in two films, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and in the Tina Fey/Steve Carell vehicle Date Night.
will.i.am has also been one of the more politically active personalities in music. A vocal supporter of President Barack Obama ever since the 2008 election, the star has appeared on politically-minded talk shows such as "Real Time With Bill Maher" and also helped pay the mortgages of several families facing foreclosure.
"I’m going to win," the superproducer said in 2010. "I’m going to win and win bigger than all these [people] are winning. And they probably don’t see that."
