DJ Drama is the most prolific and visible mixtape DJ in the hip hop industry. With a seemingly-endless parade of artists looking to work with Drama's popular series, he has become the go-to DJ for hip hop's elite personalities. Drama even released the behind-the-scenes "Gangsta Grillz: Respect the Game" DVD.
With 2010 appearances by T.I., Cam'ron, Yo Gotti, Gucci Mane and dead prez, DJ Drama's "ā¦Grillz" series remained the most iconic mixtape series in hip hop, with the latest due to be released in late 2010 or early 2011. T.I.'s "F*** A Mixtape," in particular, was significant in that it was the only recordings the rapper released after being released from prison in spring 2009. Despite a few misunderstandings with some hip hop stars, (like Young Jeezy), Drama is still a trusted media figure among rappers and lands numerous interviews with stars like Drake and Wiz Khalifa.
He made an appearance in T-Pain's "Freaknik: The Musical" as 'Mr. Thanksgiving,' and The popular DJ also appeared on CNN's forum/discussion "Black Men In the Age of President Obama" discussing race relations against the backdrop of the current political climate.
