Doug Morris Doug Morris, as chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, has headed what many consider to be one of the most powerful entities in the music industry. Under Morris' direction, UMG has become the world's largest music company--evolving past its beginnings as a record company into a complete music entertainment powerhouse.

Morris' digital strategies have helped monetize online music videos and numerous direct-to-consumer initiatives--which has helped position Universal as a digital leader. Morris received the 2010 President's Merit Award from the Grammy Foundation in recognition of his work in the industry. "The way of delivering music has changed," Morris has said. "The way of listening to it has changed, the way of distributing it has changed, but it's always the music.

Morris spearheaded UMG's partnership with YouTube to create the video player Vevo, which plays exclusive music on YouTube. He also serves on the board of directors of the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that targets poverty in New York City by finding and funding the most effective programs and partnering with them to maximize results.
