Radric "Gucci Mane" Davis
By Heather Drake Tuesday, November 16th, 2010
Radric Despite having been incarcerated for one year on probation violation before being released in May of 2010, Gucci Mane has maintained his position near the top of the hip-hop industry. The State Vs. Radric Davis, Gucci’s 2nd album, was released while the rapper was serving his 1-year sentence and it raced to the top of Billboard charts despite his inability to adequately promote it. Gucci was also able to steer his label So Icey Entertainment, home to artists like fellow Atlanta stars like OJ Da Juiceman and Wacka Flocka Flame; before later disbanding the imprint and becoming CEO and president of his new label 1017 Brick Squad Records, which he launched from prison.

Upon his release, virtually every hip hop radio personality and blogger was vying to interview the rapper, including Angela Yee, Miss Info and DJ Greg Street.

Gucci's 3rd album, The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted, debuted at number 4 on the US Billboard 200 with 61,450 sold in its first week and has sold an estimated 100,000 copies as of late October 2010.

Gucci has also hinted at possible collaborations with teen pop superstars Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
