Kevin Liles is an accomplished entrepreneur, executive and one of the industry's most respected veterans. Formerly president of Def Jam Records and Warner Music Group, Liles is now CEO of KWL/Def Jam Enterprises, a music group that has successfully diversified with recent releases like the video game “Def Jam Rapstar.”
In June of 2010, Liles received the prestigious Medaille de la Ville de Paris, the highest honor a person can receive in Parisian culture, for his role in bringing hip hop culture to Paris and the world--a testament to his ability to utilize his vision to expand hip-hop to new avenues and audiences. "Our job is to bring a new perspective to something that’s out there already," Liles has said. "Hip-hop is there. Social networks are there." Liles has also been instrumental in the careers of Jay-Z, DMX, Ludacris, 50 Cent and more.
As a humanitarian Kevin Liles has contributed greatly to the community attending events for children, “2010 New Yorkers for Children Fall Gala”, and participating in the “Get Schooled National Challenge and Tour” in October 2010 with rapper Common, helping to engage young children into improving the high school graduation rates.
