Queen Latifah continues to be hip hop’s everywoman. The woman born Dana Owens continued to make sure she had her hands in as many different fields of business, art and entertainment as possible. And the world has noticed Queen’s good work. The rapper/actress was honored in her home state by being inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in June of 2011.

Latifah also made strides for female executives in television, when “Single Ladies,” the show see executive-produced, landed on VH1 during the summer of 2011 and became a smash hit. Her film, Joyful Noise, co-starring legendary country singer Dolly Parton, is due in January of 2012.

Queen Latifah announced that she was partnering with the Home Shopping Network to launch her own clothing line called The Queen Collection. Additionally, she is planning to create a female-oriented sports talk show, possibly to debut as early as 2012.
