Questlove, as drummer of the acclaimed hip hop band The Roots, is one of the most respected figures in music in general and hip hop in particular. Questo was named one of 2011's Top Tweeters In Music by Rolling Stone magazine and his more than 2 million Twitter followers can attest to the Roots' drummer's popularity and prolific reputation on the social networking site.
Questlove is one of the most sought-after DJs in music. In 2011 alone, Questo spun records at Brooklyn Bowl, supermodel Heidi Klum’s Halloween party, for the National Association of Black Journalists and Nike's DunkHi Launch Party, among several other notable events. He appeared seemingly everywhere in 2011, alongside his bandmates backing up hip hop legend Rakim in January and performing for tsunami relief in Japan alongside Miles Davis' bassist Marcus Miller.
The Roots' gig as the house band on "Late Night With Jimmy Kimmel" has made the band one of music's most recognized groups and in 2011, that status led to controversy when Questo and the band decided to play a tongue-in-cheek joke on presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, who was appearing on the show.
