Keri Hilson has been a successful songwriter far longer than she's been a star. But the Atlanta native stardom arrived in force five years ago and she's been going strong ever since. Throughout 2011, Hilson continued to bask in the commercial success of her latest album No Boys Allowed, which spawned the hit "One Night Stand" which featured Chris Brown and landed in the Top 20 on the Hot R&B charts. It's follow-up "Lose Control" was released later in the year to similar success.
Hilson took part in the largest urban music festival in Australia, Supafest, in the spring of 2011. She was also tapped to be the opening act on the second leg of Lil Wayne's wildly successful "I Am Still Music" Tour throughout North America. Hilson didn't slack in her community involvement, either. She appeared with rapper Big Boi at a Chicago event to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of education to young people. She also attended and supported Michelle Obama's 'Let's Move' Campaign during a stop in New York in the fall.
Hilson also performed during NBA All Star Weekend and at SuperJam in Philadelphia. Hilson' has also become something of a fashion icon--her look was dissected by everyone from Bossip to Vogue in the past year. And she caught a lot of attention from her nude cover of Allure magazine, proving that Ms. Keri is every bit the pop culture icon she always aspired to be.
