Jermaine Hall
By Chris Gomes Friday, December 30th, 2011
Jermaine HallJermaine Hall has steered VIBE magazine back to the forefront of hip hop and pop music and culture. The magazine Editor-In-Chief, Hall has been guiding the iconic magazine brand for the better part of two years and in 2011, VIBE cover stories and images were among the most talked-about in the business. From controversial pieces on Amber Rose and Rick Ross, to the buzzed-about nearly-nude Kelly Rowland cover, VIBE in 2011 was the publication for hip hop news and scandal.

Transitioning from the popular men's publication KING to one of the most wellknown brands in music and culture wasn't as difficult as some may believe. "I wanted to bring back the culture--not just the music," Hall said. "I didn't feel pressure at all. My first job out of college was at VIBE. I know the book. I know all the editor-in-chiefs that came before me. I feel like I really know where it's supposed to be."
