UpFront Megatainment music mogul Devyne Stephens is a Renaissance man. Actually, that cliche may be an understatement. He runs Dreamland, a huge 17- acre estate that is available for ultra exclusive events, weddings and parties and the Complex, a large warehouse, artist boot camp where aspiring artists can sharpen everything from their vocal abilities, to dance abilities and learn image consulting and media training.
UpFront launched new artists like singer/songwriter Majic Massey and vocal group Audio. And he inked a management deal with veteran artists like R&B star Kelly Price. UpFront also partnered with Essence magazine for Essence R&B Star Search. The winner, Atlanta native Greta Prince, landed a management deal with UpFront.
"It's not just developing the art, but developing the human being," he said in 2010. "[We teach] them about life and different things, not just style and imaging and A&R and how to make records, but the overall makeover. Just really look for their drive and passion."
Ever the tireless philanthropist, Stephens hosted a holiday gala at the end of 2010 to raise money for Devyne Interventions “Power of Music” text campaign to benefit Devyne Intervention and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding.
