Matthew "Boi 1da" Samuels

Matthew One may not expect hip hop's latest superproducer to be born and raised in Canada, but Boi 1da, like superstar rapper Drake, proves that hip hop talent is thriving north of the border. He's been working with stars as far back as 2008, when he handled production work for hits by acts like G-Unit; but in the last two years, Boi 1nda has become one of hip hop's most in-demand producers.

His scope isn't limited to hip hop, either. Boi 1nda has worked with alt-rap/pop act Das Racist and he's producing the upcoming album Still Cool for Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.

As evidence of his top-shelf production work, 1nda has produced tracks for 50 Cent, Lil Wayne Drake in 2011. Expanding his base, 1nda also produced tracks for Justin Bieber and Diggy Simmons. He, along with Noah "40" Shebib, was named Songwriter of the Year at the 2011 ASCAP Pop Music Awards for their hit "Over." He also took home two Grammy Awards at the 2011 ceremony.

Boi 1da has also worked with Dr. Dre on his upcoming Detox album; even though 1nda says their collaborations have been limited. "I’m currently submitting tracks for Detox," he says. "I haven’t met him and haven’t been in the studio with him.
