Alfred Liggins IIICEO & President of Radio One, a comprehensive radio, television and online network serving African-American audiences, Alfred Liggins III casts a long shadow of influence over African American entertainment. Responsible for the overall management and operating performance of Interactive One, Liggins spearheads the brands pursuits into new business ventures, identifying acquisitions, managing an integrated business plan and, of course, attracting key talent.

With Liggins and his mother, Cathy Hughes, at the helm, the brand's television network, TV One has grown to become one of the most popular entertainment networks on television, and is second only to BET in broadcasting programs that resonate with African American popular culture. As of 2011, TV One now available is over 38 million homes, and TV One remains a separate entity of Comcast, despite the fact that Comcast was acquired by NBCUniversal this year.

"You have to have a healthy dose of fear and my healthy dose of it made me look ahead to ask what is coming next and what can I do about it," Liggins said in an interview.

Liggins' work was honored at the 2011 Trumpet Awards in Atlanta.
