J. Cole Explains Moving Up His Release Date

J. Cole isn't afraid of competing with Kanye West. The Roc Nation rapper caused a stir when he announced that he was moving up the release date of his sophomore album, Born Sinner, to June 18th--the same day that West will be releasing Yeezus.

"I'm not going to sit [here]... I worked too hard to come a week later after Kanye West drops an amazing album. It'd be like, 'Oh and J.Cole dropped too, a week later.' Nah," Cole told Billboard. "I'm going to go see him on that date. He's the greatest. So it's like, I'm a competitor by nature so it was instant, it wasn't even a thought."

"It's a definite statement about how I feel about my album, which is confident…At the same time, let's not forget this is Kanye West,” said Cole. “He bets 100, 1,000, whatever the perfect is. His track record is flawless. I'm only expecting an incredible album from him.”

Eve Blames Media For Rap Beefs

Eve has no interest in any sort of "beef" with other female hip hop artist. In an interview with Complex, the veteran rhymer explained why she avoids silly confrontations on wax and admitted that she feels like the media is the main culprit in a lot of the feuding that goes on between lady rappers.

"I'd rather avoid beef than use it in my career," she said directly.

"The biggest misconception about female rappers today is that we're trying to take another person's light and we're all competing against each other. I hate drama. If you have a problem with me, let's talk about it woman to woman. Media pitting female artists against each other is the dumbest thing in the world. I don't indulge in that sh*t."

Talib Kweli Criticizes Illuminati Obsessives

Talib Kweli spoke to VladTV about hip-hop's ever-constant obsession with the Illuminati. The Brooklyn rhymer said that he's been reading about global conspiracies for decades, but the constant focus on a secret society is distracting people from very real issues.

"What I quickly realized from reading all those books back then is if you do not know the history of the author, then you don't really know what the f**k you're readin'," Kweli says. "So a lot of the Illuminati stuff and anti-Illuminati stuff comes from right-wing, conservative, Christian think tanks, John Birch Society types who felt the need to demonize Freemasons and demonize these groups at the beginning of America. So, it's all religious stuff."

"The Illuminati was a real organization and quite possibly could be a real organization now, but the amount of power that people allow it to have on their lives is based on them," he continues. "We have the International Money Fund, the World Bank. We have rich families that are conspiring and getting together to have one currency, to have one world order to make sh*t easier for them. These things are dangerous and catastrophic for millions of people, some of these decisions that these rich people make. But when you start adding a boogieman, 'Oooh, mysterious, secret society' aspect to it, you really distract it from the real issue and you're not giving enough props and credit to how dangerous and how evil some of this sh*t really is."

Azealia Banks Admits Social Media Mistakes

Azealia Banks looks like she may be re-thinking all of those Twitterfeuds she's become famous for. The notoriously brash rapper returned to Twitter this week, but showed a slightly more pensive side when discussing her online persona.

"Ugh, I'm like the nosiest person ever. I like CANNOT mind my business. . . . I love people too much.," she tweeted. "And I love talking. And hearing what people think."

"Trust that my intentions are always good. I'm just really aggressive. :(" she continued. "Aggressive because I care."

"I need to be more Assertive and less Aggressive," Banks pondered.

"Sike, I don really give a f*ck," she tweeted later. "I'm so full of sh*t"

"I'm so full of sh*t my eyes are brown."
