Nicki Minaj Pressured To Release Debut

Nicki Minaj revealed recently that if it were up to her, her anticipated debut album Pink Friday wouldn't have been released until 2011. She only pushed the album up to November 2010 after being pressured by her label, Young Money. She also didn't want her album's release to overshadow an even bigger November release for Young Money: Lil Wayne's release from prison.

"I love him very much," Minaj said about her incarcerated boss. "I miss him and he's such a sweetheart and all of that good stuff. But I will see him soon. The album release just so happened, [Cash Money Records co-founders] Baby and Slim, they were like, 'November,' and I was like 'No, no, no,' I wanted to put my album out next year. I don't feel like people really know me yet."

Pink Friday is slated to hit stores November 23rd.

Cee-Lo Flattered By 50 Cent

Rapper/singer/songwriter Cee-Lo Green has tremendous online buzz for his new single, "F*ck You," and almost as soon as the song leaked, 50 Cent hopped on a remix with a freestyle. Many speculated that Cee-Lo would be none to happy about 50's take on his new song, but the former Gnarls Barkley frontman told EW that he appreciated 50's enthusiasm for the record.

“It’s a pleasant surprise, I must say,” the singer tells the Music Mix via phone from London. “I think it’s totally surpassed just about everyone’s expectations. We had a clue — I mean, it’s a very noticeable song — but this has been extraordinary.”

He’s also recorded a profanity-free radio edit to help the song’s chances of getting on the air. “It’s called ‘Forget You,’” he says. “It’s pretty close to the original, but not as effective. But it’s politically correct.” And while he had no part in creating 50 Cent’s witty remix, Cee Lo is a fan. “It was flattering that he would take the liberty of joining in so quickly,” he says. “I thought it was really cool.”

Yelawolf Meets Eminem

Rapper Yelawolf revealed that he had a sit-down with Eminem and described the exchange as 'overwhelming.' The newcomer received some advice from the veteran regarding the pressures of fame and the realities of addiction. Yelawolf appeared to be very thankful for Em's wisdom and concern.

"It was overwhelming at first," Yela said in an interview. "I thought, 'I'll just be cool,' but when I saw him it was different. This dude is like history. I felt the same when I met Big Boi and [Andre] 3000. These megastars and culturally-influential people, the first couple minutes you're just in awe...We talked about shows and touring and sh*t...I like to drink a lot, but I sobered up. I got some advice from him about getting sh*t under control based on his experiences...I just gave him my story -- where I was from, how my music developed, and I let him listen to some material on the new album...He did me the honor of letting me hear his sh*t before it came out and it was dope."

Nicki Minaj Switching Her Image?

Nicki Minaj recently revealed that she may change her image completely now that fans have gotten used to her 'antics.' She also shared that she'd like to work in television, and would want to help inspire young people.

"I'd like to be able to come out in jeans and slippers. The world has seen all my crazy antics, so now I'm ready to be a regular person...I like to experiment with hair and makeup, so maybe I'll just shave my whole hair bald...I know right now she has no idea who I am, but I'd like to collab with Enya one day. Of course I'd love to work with Jay-Z, maybe even Phil Collins. I love his voice."

"When I was little I would've loved to go to dance class, but my mother couldn't afford it," the rapper continued. "I want to get some real top-notch buildings and teachers to help kids sing, play instruments and dance. And I want to do things in Trinidad and Africa...I'd write a sketch comedy, 'Nicki Minaj Presents: Curb Your Enthusiasm.' I'd star in it with my best friend and Larry David because he makes me cry laughing. I love dry humor."

Minaj's debut album is set to be released on November 23rd.
