Nicki Minaj went on an angry Twitter rant yesterday (May 3rd) aimed at "Access Hollywood" reporter Laura Saltman after Saltman voiced her criticism of Minaj's approach as a judge on "American Idol." Saltman shared that she felt the show would be better without the rapper's "special brand of snark" and that Minaj isn't really needed.
"Honestly, if your day was really RUINED because i walked away from a question, rather than discuss something negative, u need a LIFE. Lmao," Minaj tweeted in response. "Yo @LilTunechi. This hoe want some trukfit. @LauraSaltman"
"Like...why? I spk to these ppl every single week. Go above and beyond! And the one time i ignore your ignorance u try to paint a bad pic?" she continued. "like that man Billy Bush...like r u the fake ryan seacrest? like my g, who the fuk r u? lmao. i gotta laugh at this shit. i swear to God"
"I used to let these ppl say whatever they wanted about me, not anymore. I am blessed & highly favored, not afraid of losing your acceptance," Minaj added. "I wldve respected her had she pulled me aside like a BOSS. But going to your "friends" to have them lash out against me on TV? grow up hoe"
''The Whole Reason Is Just So People Can Hear Your Music'' 4:30PM ET May 3rd, 2013 Contributor : Chris G. A Rocky Williform Company
In an in-depth conversation with Ambrosia For Heads, Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. discussed what he feels is his purpose--both in his music and in his life.
“Just to help people,” K.R.I.T. stated. “I think at some point I think you get caught up with the business. You get caught up with the hustle of it all and grinding and you forget that the whole reason is just so people can hear your music. That’s all I wanted. So, this was me remembering that and aside from clearing the samples, aside from the paperwork, let’s get back to me just rapping. I just want to hear people play it in they car. I got back to that mind frame and that’s why it took a long time working on this project.”
He also explained his mixtape title and stagename "King Remembered In Time."
“One, it brands the name. Two, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here was—my introduction for a lot of people,” said K.R.I.T. “I think that name itself, before people even knew what K.R.I.T. stood for, was just so big. And so it’s almost like coming back around in my mind with K.R.I.T. Wuz Here Part 2. Instead of the Wuz Here, you know what this name means so let me really brand it 'King Remembered In Time.' I’mma be a king and you can’t denounce my bloodline. I’m here. And so that’s what that was really about. Me standing up and proving that and showing that and believing in myself.”

''This Statement Falls Short of an Apology'' 2:00PM ET May 3rd, 2013 Contributor : Stephen Willis A Rocky Williform Company
Lil Wayne may have issued an statement expressing his regret at offending the family of Emmett Till, but Till's family isn't happy with the rapper's approach. A representative from the family said that Weezy's apology for an "inappropriate" lyric in a remix of Future's "Karate Chop" wasn't good enough.
"While it's commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to 'not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,' this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned," Airickca Gordon-Taylor, who is also executive director of the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation, said.
''Why Are Your Daughters Listening To Me?'' 2:00PM ET May 3rd, 2013 Contributor : Stephen Willis A Rocky Williform Company
Tyler, the Creator has been at the center of a firestorm after fans and media complained about the Odd Future frontman's controversial viral Mountain Dew ad. One of the loudest critics was cultural commentator and scholar Dr. Boyce Watkins, who criticized Mountain Dew for utilizing a "racist" advertisement.
“I guess he found it racist because I was portraying stereotypes, which is ridiculous because, one, all of those dudes [in the line-up] are my friends,” Tyler explained in an interview with Billboard. “Two, they're all basically in their own clothes. It was originally supposed to be just two dudes, but Garrett from Trash Talk came with his friend and other people had showed up, so I just put all of them in that line-up, if you really wanna know the truth… So for [Watkins] to nitpick and notice that, clearly shows his state of mind is on some other sh*t that I can't comprehend, for him to actually sit there and for him to notice that it's all blacks [in the lineup]. That wasn't my intention.”
“Because you're so quick to judge something that you don't know the context, you're so quick to call me a racist and other stuff, but he didn't know where I was coming from,” said Tyler, directly addressing Dr. Watkins. “But then he looked at what I have actually done, and now he wants to take his statement back. ‘My daughters listen to you.’ Okay, that's confusing, because if I'm such a racist, and such a bad person, and feeding negativity to the youth, why are your daughters listening to me? That shows you're a bad parent and a hypocrite if your daughters are listening to me and I'm such a bad person…Now that he's doing that, not only is it messing up opportunities for me, but also maybe opportunities for another young black male who maybe looks up to me and wants to do that in the future. It's ludicrous.”
