Actor Issues Statement Regarding Rapper's Allegations

Actor Sean Penn has responded to Wyclef Jean's radio freestyle. Earlier this week, Jean fired some insults at two of the more famous critics of his failed Haitian presidential bid; former Fugee bandmate Pras and the Oscar-winning actor. In his freestyle, Jean insinuated that Penn was a cocaine abuser that used drug while volunteering in Haiti.

Responding to Jean's cocaine comment on Friday, Penn's spokesperson issued a statement: "Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body's immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous."

"As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it," Penn's representative added. "That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising."
