Miami PD Uses Jay-Z's Image

The Miami Police Department used an image of hip hop superstar Jay-Z in an online gang awareness poster as an illustration of what a stereotypical gang member looks like. The image appeared on the front page of the Miami Police Department website but has since been removed.

The Miami New Times said:

"We're still waiting for official comment from the Miami Police Department as to why they think Jay-Z makes a good criminal prototype. But after a blog we wrote this morning was forward[ed] to the IT commander, according to spokesperson Napier Velasquez, the department has removed the offending art-- a painting of five apparent gang-members, two of which were modeled after the rapper-- from the gang unit banner on their website."

I hate the fact that people still like to stereotype! And I agree with the others.. Vanilla Ice would be better on this poster than Jay-Z
