Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Kareem "Biggs" Burke was arrested today in a federal drug sweep spanning New York to South Florida. Biggs, along with 42 other people, was taken into custody for involvement in a massive drug distribution network, headed by Geovanny “Manny” Rodriguez Perez.
According to the New York Post, special agent Jim Hayes, who is in charge of Homeland Security Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement said that Perez “controlled the marijuana market in NYC.” High Times ad rep and writer Mattew Stang was also arrested.
It is currently unknown exactly how Burke was affiliated with the organization. No comment has been made from Burke's spokespeople.
