Mysterious Party Asks For Leniency For Rapper 6:00AM ET October 25th, 2010 Contributor : Hip Hop Blog Staff A Rocky Williform Company
An unnamed party sent a poorly-worded document to the judge in T.I.'s probation violation case asking for the rapper to be sent to a rehabilitation center instead of to back to prison. The Atlanta star was ordered to return to prison for eleven months following a probation violation in September. A group, only identified as 'Citizens of the State of Atlanta, Georgia,' claims responsibility for the letter.
"More importantly however, is the fact that taxpayer's money ought not to be wasted to pay the expense to incarcerate a Defendant at the whelm of a Probation Officer and/or an Assistant U. S. Attorney, when, as in this case, other appropriate remedies are available as an alternative to incarceration; otherwise, this case would only be an example of the reason prisons are over-crowded and explains recidivism."
T.I. claims he does not know who sent the letter.
