Rapper Released From Riker's Island

Rap superstar Lil Wayne has been freed from prison at Riker's Island in New York. The city's Department of Correction website said Thursday the Grammy Award-winning rap star has been released from the Rikers Island jail complex. His managers have said he planned to head for his Miami home.

Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being hit number one prior to his release, and the rapper told fans via his final Riker's Island letter on Tuesday that he "was never scared, worried nor bothered" behind bars. He spent 8 months in prison following a weapons possession conviction.
