Jay-Z and Nas lit up the summer and fall of 2001 with their heated rivalry for the title of New York's king. Jay dropped his scatching, Kanye West-produced diss track, "Takeover" that summer--a Doors-sampling banger aimed squarely at Nas, Mobb Deep and anyone else who spoke ill of the chart-topping emcee from Brooklyn. But Jay, in a recent radio interview, may have re-opened old wounds by saying his song is still better than Nas.'
