J. Cole has been quietly crafting his debut album, and recently shared some details about the project, which is reportedly in its final stages. Though there hasn't been a release date, the rapper acknowledged that his fans have been frustrated by his lack of updates on the project's progress.
"I know my fans are frustrated with me, because I won't give a date," J. Cole said in an interview with The Press of Atlantic City. "I only gave a date one time in my career last year, and I smacked myself in the face because it was so unrealistic. Now I say it's coming soon, and it's really true, because we're in the final stages right now."
"I don't worry about what the world wants me to do," the rapper said of his mentality while writing and recording the his album. "I'm worrying about meeting my expectations."
