Rapper Killer Mike has announced via Twitter that his new video for "Burn" has been 'banned' by BET. The song is an incendiary track from his latest album PL3DGE, and the video features news footage ranging from the financial crisis and the Oscar Grant case.
Killer Mike did note that the video is getting airplay on MTV Jams, but spent several tweets discussing the subject and addressing BET directly.
""Burn" banned on BET! #BlacksStayLosing," Mike tweeted. "Have we as Americans and Hip Hop head[s] gotten so Lazy and Apathetic that we let #Burn go unnoticed by the masses?"
"I on the behalf of the poor and disenfranchised ask u to reconsider the decision NOT to play #Burn @StephenGHill & @BET," he continued. "@BET because of Teen summit and Rap City showing, Cube, PE, Goodie Mob and other Videos i grew smarter. Why not play this?"
