Soul Singer Passes Away At 27

British soul singer Amy Winehouse was found in her apartment today (July 23.) The details of her death are unknown at press time, but it was confirmed that police were called to the home of a deceased woman confirmed to be the singer.

"On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," a police statement said. "At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."

The "Rehab" singer battled a drug addiction that slowed her momentous career after her 2007 breakthrough album Back To Black. She recently had to cut short a concert in Serbia due to her incoherent performance. She was booed off-stage and her manager said that "she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home."

"I don't care enough about what people think of me to conform to anything," she once told CNN.
