Wu-Tang Clan affiliate/producer True Master was granted $250,000 bail in Manhattan Supreme Court for charges of allegedly trying to rape a woman in his Harlem, New York apartment. True gave a strange rant to the judge but was ultimately granted bail anyway.
"I do not consent to participate willingly to these proceedings," True Master, aka Derrick Harris, said defiantly. He proceed to renounce his American citizenship.
Despite prosecutors' disapproval, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice A. Kirke Bartley freed Harris on $250,000 bond, reversing a criminal court judge's decision to hold him without bail. He is accused of attacking and raping a woman after she came to his apartment. Witnesses reportedly saw the woman running down the street half-naked, allegedly fleeing from Harris.
"As I told you my nationality and you don't want to respect me, you don't think that I have the authority to fire you?" True said to the judge. "I'm a sovereign national, my whole life. As I said, I have unalienable rights. [...] You can play if you want to play, but all you're doing is asking [me] to exercise my authority to have your ass fired."
