Iconix Brand Group, Incorporated has signed an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in the Ecko portfolio of brands for $63.5 million from Marc Ecko Enterprises.
Iconix Brand Group is a brand management company engaged in licensing, marketing and providing trend direction for a portfolio of owned consumer brands. Their portfolio includes Rocawear, Ed Hardy, Starter and Artful Dodger.
Iconix will also form a joint venture company with an affiliate of Marc Ecko Enterprises to acquire the trademarks. Iconix will hold a 51% interest in the joint venture and will control the licensing company.
