Retail chain Best Buy is launching in-store sections for DJ equipment, building on last year's move to add departments devoted to music instruments.
The new ventures is called Club Beats, in partnership with audio company Monster and Beats Electronics, an equipment company founded by hip-hop artist Dr. Dre and Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine.
Club Beats will sell headphones and cables by both Monster and Beats as well as branded by other specialty-audio products including DJ turntables, iPods and similar equipment.
Best Buy is putting the concept in 300 stores including seven locations which will include bigger, more sophisticated areas.
