Madonna has spoken up regarding M.I.A. and her controversial middle-finger during the Super Bowl halftime show. The Material Girl dismissed the younger star's actions, which could lead to fines. Madonna says M.I.A.'s behavior ruined the positive atmosphere during the show.

"I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative," Madonna told Ryan Seacrest. "It’s such a teenager ... irrelevant thing to do ... there was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point?"

Reportedly, M.I.A. has apologized personally to Madonna for the incident.
